Casablanca's Mosque on the Water

I wish Casablanca to be endowed with a large, fine building of which it can be proud until the end of time... I want to build this mosque on the water, because God's throne is on the water. Therefore, the faithful who go there to pray, to praise the creator on firm soil, can contemplate God's sky and ocean.

Those were the wishes of Morocco's King Hassan II back in 1880. Now flash forward to the present, where a group of young travelers tour the king's now-finished sacred project. This featured video captures the energy of youth making discoveries and showing we jaded folk how wonderful it is to walk around a beautiful building and admire its details, its significance, and its architecture. We fell in love with Rinell Banda and his Pinoy Travel Channel. We know you'll enjoy watching this video tour and marveling at the King Hassan II Mosque in exotic Casablanca.

Traveling to England to Visit a Senior Citizen and His Caravan Home

Jay Johnson - Most of the time, we take our homes for granted. They're around after a day of work. We leave them in the morning, we work, and we return to them in the evening. But imagine that you're a senior, and your family life breaks up, and your home no longer seems homey. I found this short documentary about Bruce, a gentleman who decided that life in his own caravan wagon was the lifestyle he'd like to live. Fetching water and firewood, cooking his meals over an open fire, attending to his horses, and interacting with fellow caravan travelers in the UK may not seem like the life for you, but Bruce wishes he had fallen into it earlier in life. Enjoy this touching look at his home on wheels.

La Tamborrada

Head for San Sebastian, Spain for January 19th festive celebration La Tamborrada 2013, the loud and colorful Spanish Drumming Festival. Supposedly begun back in 1720, the noise and percussive beats begin at midnight on January 18 in beautiful Constitution Place square, as shown in this featured video.

And the fun is non-stop in all San Sebastian's neighborhoods. Don't miss it!

Autumn in Paris

Photo: Madeleine's View

Irwin and Jay just returned from a week in the Eternal City. Paris is one city that seems to call out to the heart and soul. Some cities are more cerebral or they hit you with a visceral gut punch, but the refinement and beauty of Paris is softer and more sublime. This video featuring autumn views of Paris perfectly captures the tranquility and majesty of this time of year.
